A new book, Behind Closed Curtains, looks at interior design in Iran

We’ve seen our fair share of interiors books here at FvF, but this is the first we’ve seen from Iran. Behind Closed Curtains: Interior Design in Iran is a new book on interior design from this frequently misunderstood country. The project showcases a wide range of interiors, from royal mansions to desert homes, offering a rare glimpse inside these private worlds. Its ambition is to show another side of Iran, often overshadowed by its politics, instead foregrounding Persian traditions, knowledges and cultures.

Behind Closed Curtains: Interior Design in Iran is available to buy after 19 May from the allmyhippies website. You can follow the project on Instagram here.

If you’re interested in Iran and the Persian diaspora, have a flick through the FvF archive here.
